What Is Meditation? How Do I Take Charge Of My Mind?

Meditation is the technique to develop an awareness of the present moment and connect to your body and soul. When you meditate, you require sharp focus and attention to connect to the body and breath, and that s when you develop acceptance of difficult emotions. You can anchor yourself in the here and now on purpose and can release unwanted thoughts from your mind. Meditation is a solution to the growing need to reduce stress during busy schedules.

You can lower your stress, connect better to your soul and the present moment, reduce the brain’s chatter, and improve your focus when you meditate.
Meditation seems simpleβ€”and in many ways, it is. But people are often unsure where to start and whether they’re doing it correctly.

If you want to learn how to meditate and integrate it into your daily life, scroll down to read how you can do it.

Step 1- Relax Yourself And Get Comfortable

Relaxation is about letting go of tension and bringing the mind and body into a state of calm and peace.
Relax and get comfortable and prepare to sit still for a few minutes, and let go of anything that bothers you.

Breathe in and hold your breath for a while and exhale the breath. Do it on a count to six and breathe in slowly and breathe out. Allow your relaxation to double with each breath. Every time you exhale, imagine you go deeper and deeper into the centre of your being where there is complete stillness. Connect yourself and ground yourself to nature and the divine. Imagine the silent and powerful energy that lives in the earth, comes in the form of golden roots and connects with you and your inner centre. Allow this energy to come up and connect with you and take away the unwanted stress. Release all that doesn’t serve you and feel relaxed as you connect to the light above you, the pure spiritual energy like sunlight shining on you by the divine. Feel your exergy related and expanded and feel both grounded and connect to the divine spiritual light.

Fill yourself with pure energy and return to everyday life, and know that you have powerful power inside you and keep shining through the day.

Step 2- Use Contemplation To Connect With Yourself

Contemplation is a powerful way to sit with the questions, reflect on them, and then come up with answers. Hear the questions and let the answers come naturally. Often we reflect and base our life decisions on the stories of others or our past. It is time to connect with yourself, erase these stories, and find your true self. Reflect on your inner self and allow the answers to come in a word or any visual. Allow your mind to rest on the question, who is the real eternal you? What do you like and what makes you happy? Allow the answer to come from inside and take time to sit in silence with these questions, and it is powerful to receive answers from your soul.

The body may expire, the situations may change, but you need to understand you are an eternal spirit in this infinite universe. Contemplate on that and change your thoughts and your life. Check-in with your soul and ask yourself what you can do daily to connect with this sense of eternity. Find a way to connect with yourself and meditate and be in silence, and the answers shall come to you in time in a powerful way.

Step 3- Concentrate On One Thing

Exercise concentration and observation by breathing in and out and allowing your breath to be wave-like. Experience the sensation of your breath as it moves in and out and be focused at that moment. You can also concrete the mind by repeating words or mantras like Om or Shanti that means peace. If your mind wanders, return to these mantras and repeat them. You can also focus the mind and go deep into powerful thoughts and experiences by focusing your attention on any solid point in front of you. It could be the wall, a painting and anything. All you need to do is focus and relax your gaze and breath in and out. All you are doing is holding your focus. Let the wandering thoughts be like cars passing by and be present in the moment.

The practice of concentration meditation is one of the three main types of meditation practice: concentration, open awareness and guided. Concentration and focus will allow you to use your time productively; once you have relaxed: you focus on the thoughts you choose to have.

Step 4- Realize And Connect With Your Soul

There is a light inside yourself as you hold the awareness that you are connected to this light of love. Look at the real aspects of your soul and connect with your eternal nature. Everything you see with your eyes has a beginning and an end, but you as a soul are eternal. Gently allow yourself to sit with thoughts that everything around you is made up of love and everything changes, but your spiritual being is eternal, and your light will exist forever. Spend time creating feelings of what is real inside you, the feeling of joy, love and happiness. Feel like a pure light that is free and weightless. Surround yourself with this thought, realize what makes you happy, and connect with this feeling. You are a soul being the light in your body and beyond the body. Your soul is free, and you need to connect with your soul in the world of matter.Once you realize and understand your feeling and combine it, you experience a more profound reality.

Brilliant things happen in calm minds, and meditation will nourish the mind in the same way that food nourishes the body. We at Atoms Of Universe hope this article guided you to ways to meditate and connect with your inner self.
